Hello!

Welcome to Pilates Essentials!

Whether this is your first time practicing Pilates or you are diving back in to the basics I am glad that you chose me to guide you on that journey. I'm not going to bore you with my life story, but if you would like to know more about me you can visit the Create Move Pilates website, the Create Move Pilates Virtual Studio (Facebook Group), or my Instagram. I do, however, want to go over what's in the course and what you can expect from me.

This course starts from the very beginning with the Pilates Principles ebook. This book explores and breaks down the 9 Pilates Principles in a convenient 20-page, visually pleasing, ebook that can be read on a variety of devices in a PDF format. Each Pilates principle is discussed using Joe’s own words through quotes and elaborated on with the author’s personal stories and tips. I recommend starting here before diving into the lessons.

Each lesson includes a 10-15 minute video with a brief discussion of the fundamentals of the movement before going into detailed cueing of selected exercises or breath practice. Along with the video there is a written copy of the lecture included with each lesson for those that learn better through a combination of reading and visual tools. Each exercise is broken down into easy to follow clear steps, so that you know what to expect when you watch the video.

I also include Pro Tips where I give modifications and challenges. By the time you complete each lesson you will have a full understanding of each essential Pilates movement and how to make it work best for your body. If you don't find the information you are looking for simply ask me in the comments. I'll give you my very best answer within 48 hours. I'm a well qualified Pilates teacher with over 3 years experience, but I am not a doctor or physical therapist. If I ever feel you need this expertise it is my professional responsibility to send you in the right direction, not pretend to have an answer when it is out of my ball park.

Last, but not least, this course leaves you with a place to go, a way to use all this wonderful new knowledge you just consumed into some true Pilates flow! Pilates Essentials ends with a 45 Minute Beginner Workout video for students who have completed the lessons and are ready to move into their Pilates practice. Not only do I include a full length workout video, but each lesson has a section called "Found Here" where I give a short list of mat and reformer exercises that challenge the fundamental movement being discussed. You can use this list when practicing with your in person trainer or when exploring You Tube (Check out my channel, Create Move Pilates)

I am here to support you along your journey through great content, the comments section of each lesson, and the Create Move Pilates Virtual Studio. I promise this course offers the strong foundation you need to understand the Pilates repertoire in a deeper way and to create a more easeful, more efficient, workout.

In return I request that you watch every video and read every lesson in order to allow me to help you to my fullest ability. I request that you practice as much as possible, I recommend a minimum of 3 times a week, with an open mind and an open heart. Embrace your body and yourself where you are know and leave yourself room to grow.
